ABOUT THE WORLD FASHION COUNCIL
The WORLD FASHION COUNCIL (WFC) is an organization (i) supporting young designers, (ii) encouraging innovation in design (iii) excellence in fashion+design education and (iv) raising industry standards for trend, market forecasting and consulting by (a) fostering the emergence of a network of fashion+designers, fashion weeks and fashion+design associations throughout the world, (b) opening a cross-cultural exchange between fashion programs and young designers throughout the world and (c) creating a central event which brings young designers, the Colleges/Universities they attend and top-tier fashion brands and professionals together. To realize these aims, the World Fashion Council has launched an annual international student competition, the World Fashion Council Awards .
ABOUT THE NEW ENGLAND FASHION+DESIGN ASSOCIATION
The New England Fashion + Design Association (NEF+DA), a World Fashion Council affiliate, is a not-for-profit organization established in 2005 to create a dynamic fashion and design community. NEF+DA's mission is to educate and support the next generation of style innovators and leaders. NEFDA aims to excite the imagination transforming the region into a trend-setting destination where emerging and independent designers, fashion entrepreneurs and promoters find a vital and accessible stage for what's next in fashion and home design. Since 2006 NEFDA has hosted Connecticut Fashion Week(TM), New England Fashion Week(TM) & Indie Fashion Week(TM).
ABOUT THE SoNo DESIGN CO-OPERATIVE
The SoNo Design CoOperative, a World Fashion Council affiliate, is the center of fashion design activity in Connecticut and New England. The SoNo Design CoOperative center offers designers, models, fashion retailers and entreprenuers, and students of design a location where they can design, retail, sell, launch, network and participate in a wide range of adult and teen workshops and seminars.
