The World Fashion Council is currently seeking volunteers and interns. Volunteer and internship opportunities offer participants experience, recognition, and belonging.  Volunteers and interns are eligibile to receive a free 3-month, 6-month or 1-year membership in the World Fashion Council. Volunteer positions and internships are open to:
      • Fashion Professionals (Active, Retired, Or In-Between)
      • Fashion Students (College, High School Or Technical)
      • Skilled, Interested & Passionate

        The committment level required from volunteers and interns are open-ended, ranging from as little as one-half hour every week to forty-plus hours per week (for those with more available time). 
        The focus of projects range from the local to the global.  Volunteer and internship opportunities can be conducted еither romotely (from the community you live in/via phone or internet) or from our Fairfield County Connecticut location.

FASHION ILLUSTRATION WORKSHOP SERIES

Description
The Fashion Illustration Workshop Series is a sequence of four workshops designed to enable fashion designer to express the creative ideas and illustrated them in a way that they can be produced by a patternmaker or to sell designs to companies. This program provides participants an opportunity to gain the foundational skills and sensibilities needed to pursue a fashion education that is solid and enjoyable. In the Fashion Illustration Workshop participants can gain a strong foundation in drawing and rendering that will enable them to make their own designs and even begin their first collection pieces.

Students may either enroll in one module at a time or may enroll for the entire series of four modules. Students who complete the entire sequence in the Fashion Illustration Workshop Series are eligible for a certification of completion.

In addition to the Fashion Illustration Workshops additional optional workshops are available such as the Fashion Stylist Certificate to build upon the solid foundation the Fashion Illustration Workshop Series provides. The fashion Stylist Certificate compliments this series by further developing the ability to work with clients to design a sellable fashion collection.

Participants in the Fashion Illustration Workshop series may also elect to participate in a number of related workshops to supplement their studies in fashion illustration. Recommended and available workshops include:

FASHION ILLUSTRATION - LEVEL I - BASIC DRAWING TECHNIQUES

Prerequisites

No prior experience is required

Fashion illustration is an introduction of basic fashion drawing techniques. Proportions, balance, composition &

fashionable flare are taught in the class. Black and white sketching techniques.

FASHION ILLUSTRATION - LEVEL II - COLOR FABRIC RENDERING

Fashion Illustration I or prior fashion illustration experience

Description

Fashion illustration will teach color fabric rendering and introduction of fabric vocabulary. Application of

professional marker and pencil techniques will be introduced such as flat color, shading and expressing different fabric characteristics.

THE FASHION ILLUSTRATION I,II III & IV - WORKSHOP SERIES

Online Workshop

Description

Association members registering for the Fashion Illustration are automatically enrolled in Fashion Illustration I, II, III & IV.

Once enrolling Association Members are free to choose the available individual fashion illustration workshop session that best fits their needs. In addition to the requirement of successfully completing each of the Sewing individual workshops in the Fashion Illustration Workshop Series Association members registering for THE FASHION ILLUSTRATION WORKSHOP SERIES are also required to develop and build a portfolio of their work throughout the workshop series. The portfolio developed throughout each of the series’ four workshops is review in a special end-of-workshop critique session. These end-of-workshop critique sessions are designed to help members identify strengths, critical needs and potential opportunities for further professional development and networking. After completing all Sewing workshops association members present a portfolio of the work they completed throughout the entire workshop series along with a mutually agreed upon final project. The end-of-series critique session is attended by the student, faculty member and one or more invited fashion industry experts.

THE FASHION ILLUSTRATION CERTIFICATE

This intense Fashion art studio class will provide the starting point from which to practice and develop drawing skills and aesthetic vision of how to translate fashion vision onto a paper. Starting from life drawing to developing own croquet to start fashion collection conceptual drawing to practicing technical drawing for production-fashion flats. Black and white drawing technique and rendering in color markers and gouache will be introduced. Fabric rendering, proportions, balance lines and abstract thinking to be applied to fashion design concept will be applied in the workshop. Professional techniques for presentation boards and concept boards will be taught. Vocabulary of styles and art will be used. With this understanding and knowledge in place the student will be able to draw on these skills to further develop the art of fashion illustration and to realize their collection concepts in real practices.

If you are interested to work with designer and execute a design you’ll be offered the opportunity to work on developing a custom design created by a designer so you can practice your customer service and patternmaking skills (very important if you are looking to start a pattern making serviceWork as fashion illustrator for a fashion studio and understand how to develop a relationship with a client and maintain it trough good service and creating a trust and reliability.
The Fashion Illustration Certificate: Upgraded Version B
Create your own collection and presentation for a buying office and present to industry professional as you’ll be doing when you start your own line.

 

FASHION ILLUSTRATION - ONE-ON-ONE - CUSTOM CURRICULUM

This private one-on-one custom fashion illustration workshop is designed primarily for two different groups. First, for those fashion illustration students making seeking a very special beginning to power them up the learning curve or for fashion illustrators at an intermediate 

or advanced level seeking a fashion illustration mentor who can help them develop and take their skills and/or vision to the next level. Businesses are the second group that will benefit from the custom fashion illustration workshop: from those putting their first collection together (who need expert fashion-illustration guidance) to established fashion shops of all sizes who may need expert just-in-time guidance in all things fashion illustration. For both groups the entire custom one-on-one fashion illustration workshop, from the days and times you meet, to the shape and goals of the entire workshop, to each individual meeting are uniquely designed to fit your specific needs and help you achieve your specific fashion illustration goals.
